- **Event Description**: Save the date!  The Amy Romano Memorial Field Hockey Scrimmage is an annual preseason high-school field hockey event held at Enfield High School to honor the life and legacy of Amy Romano, a standout Enfield athlete, teacher and field hockey coach.

Amy was a three-sport athlete at Enrico Fermi High School, earning All-State honors in field hockey and softball. She went on to play field hockey and softball at Assumption College, earning All-Northeast Region honors in field hockey three times. She later returned to Enfield as an educator and coached field hockey at Fermi. Amy died unexpectedly in 2007 at age 40.

The memorial event began in 2009. Each year, high-school teams from Connecticut and other New England states come together for a day of short preseason scrimmages. Because these are preseason scrimmages, the games do not count toward the teams' official records.

Most importantly, the event is a fundraiser: 100% of the profits support the Amy Romano Memorial Scholarship Fund, which provides a scholarship to an Enfield student-athlete. Spectators traditionally attend for free, with donations encouraged.
