Their 5th annual Lemonade Stand and Bake Sale is scheduled and they are so excited!

This year the girls have chosen to donate the funds to Hartford Healthcare Breast Center at St. Vincent’s Medical Center - a medical team that have been true angels to our family the last 9 months. As someone who has always been faithful to Hartford Hospital, we were nervous to shift. But when you meet a reconstruction team as amazing as they are…and your Hartford-based Breast Surgeon is willing to go to Bridgeport, you do it. They all said said “we got you” <3 

Just before surgery, patients go in for what’s called a “teaching appointment”. This appointment is LONG and while one could often leave there feeling overwhelmed… after two hours, I left feeling ready for the next step. Their patience when patients is unmatched. I also left with a small “goodie bag” of medical supplies to get started, a list of additional needed supplies/garments and a little pink stress ball. 

It sounds silly but that bag was something that stuck with me…and apparently the girls. When thinking about what they wanted their funds to go towards this year, they all agreed - we’d like to help boost those little “goodie bags” with something positive. Maybe even an Amazon gift cards to help defray the costs of the purchases needed. 

(Any additional funds will be donated to both offices for use in whatever patient-centered way they feel is best.)

While the day-of event is the most important, we are hoping to make this our BIGGEST one yet. With that in mind, we’re happy to take donations (no matter how big or small) anytime leading up to July 12th.
