First Day Hike at Rock Creek Station

Ring in the new year in the great outdoors with a guided first day hike at Rock Creek Station State Historical Park. Enjoy views of prairie vistas and oak woodlands along the historical Oregon Trail while chatting with park staff about the history and landscape of Rock Creek Station.

Participants can expect a laid back hike suitable for beginners. The hike will take place on the Legacy Loop trail, a mowed grass trail with gentle moderate slopes. The guided portion of the hike will be around one mile, starting and ending at the park Visitor Center. Warm up in the Visitor Center after the hike with hot chocolate and snacks provided.

A valid 2026 Nebraska state park vehicle permit is required for entry and can be purchased at the park.
