THE BAND:
Live music by Steve Brockley and band. Three albums in, with a fourth on the way, Steve Brockley has spent years building his sound—playing as a hired gun in Toronto and Montreal before stepping into his own as a songwriter and performer. The result is a guitar player who can write a song and a songwriter who can really play. Now based in the Kootenays, Brockley will be joined by Jesse Lee, along with Winnipeg imports Stone Face Kid and Ethan Melle. Expect a night of twangy roots music with shades of JJ Cale and Bob Dylan—honest songs, great playing, and plenty of groove to keep the dance floor moving.

HISTORY OF THE JUMBLE DANCE
It's the 1950s, there's a dance at Kingfisher Hall. Smoking's allowed, but drinking is banned. So the men cluster in the parking lot for some drinks, and the women find themselves without dancing partners. 

So some women began dressing as men so they could ask the other women to dance. Then, before long, the men joined in, dressing as women, and the Jumble Dance was born.

But that's not all: while most community dances have fallen away, the Jumble Dance has persisted—always with great costumes, live band, and lots of laughter.

SCHEDULE:
·        8:00 PM – Doors open, music, and mingling
·        8:30–10:00 PM – First dance set
·        10:00–10:30 PM – Costume parade & prizes
·        11:00 – Taco party!
·        10:30–12:00 AM – Final dance set

TICKETS: $30. Pick them up at Tony O's in Enderby. Or etransfer kingfisher3337@gmail.com and include your name and "Jumble" in the memo. 

LOCATION: Kingfisher Hall is about 30 km east of Enderby, BC, on Mabel Lake Road. You'll lose cell service at Halfway Hill (about halfway from Enderby)—so plan accordingly.

Profits go to the Kingfisher Community Society.
