Our February Meeting will be on Feb. 2, 6:00 PM @ Emory Baptist Church Memorial Hall. This month, please bring your favorite tool(s) that you use in sewing and quilting. Be ready to tell why it is a favorite tool and how you use it. I hope to find some new favorites!!
The February workshop will be on the 7th. It will also be at EBC. We will begin setting up at 9 AM and hope to be started by 9:30.
We will again be making NICU quilts. This time we will use the reverse applique technique. If you have any Annie McHug templates, please bring them with you. If you already are an expert at this technique, come anyway. Someone will need your help!
Supplies needed:
* Sewing machine
* all necessary tools & notions
* extension cord
* washable school glue sticks (1 or 2)
* thread
* top fabric should be a solid or tone on tone. Bring enough
to cut 6 12.5 X 12.5 squares.
* second fabric should be a coordinating print. It's hard to say
how much. It depends on the size of the print and how many
appliques you want to do. I would say at least 1/2 yard.
* Your 3rd fabric is your backing. Remember the finished quilts
should be approximately 24 X 36. Your backing should be at
least 32 X 44.
* If you hope to start quilting on Saturday, your batting should
be approximately the same size as your backing.
