This is for any of the women interested in journeying with me in the central desert or the Kimberley. I’ll be sharing stories and answering questions fireside. We’ll share in a meal as well as enjoy some slow time under the stars, a mini experience of what it feels like to be on this journey of connecting to country. You might want to bring a friend or two, too!
Want to know a little bit about how these journey's began…
What I have learnt so strongly with these Custodians over my ten year journey of walking with them is the importance of relationship, and right relationship. Their capacity to just be where connection to country is simply their way of being. The more I saw the impacts of colonisation on these cultural people, the more I questioned what my part is in it, my responsibility. I believe that being a facilitator is a role that carries a lot of responsibility and power. And so, I began to turn my focus to creating these journeys to connect people to country, custodians and to learning the ways of right relationship, of caring for country and community.
This is my activism and I hope that it can activate others to find their place in this journey of walking together and restoring and hopefully re-story our own ways of being as we learn the deeper truth, not just of colonisation, but of the ancient ways that live in the land and the people of the land. To walk with these people, is to remember our own ancestral ways of connection. The counter force to divide and conquer, is to walk united in right relationship. This is what I have learnt on my journey in the desert.

I acknowledge the ancient lands on which we gather, the stories, language and ceremonies that exist within country and the custodians that have taken care of these lands since time immemorial. I pay my respects to the sacred art forms that exist within the original culture, to the ceremonies and rituals. May we learn to live in harmony, may we listen and may we continue to learn from the oldest living culture in the world.
