Get ready to Strutt Your Mutt and Pawty in the Patch at Nelson's Pumpkin Patch on Saturday, September 20, 2025, from 11:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M.
This event is so pup-ular, it'll have your tail wagging! Dress up your furry friends in their favorite Howl-o-ween costumes and join us for the 11th Annual Pooches in the Patch extravaganza!
🐶 Here’s what’s in store for you and your pooch:
🧡 Meet Adoptable Dogs
From 12:00 P.M. – 1:00 P.M., meet adorable pups from Journey Home Animal Rescue looking for their fur-ever homes. Who knows—you might just find your perfect four-legged companion!
🚜 Pup-Tastic Fun:
• Doggie Hayrides
• Walk Spookley’s Trail
• Hop on the Bee Train Ride
• Navigate the 10-acre corn maze
Your pup will have a tail-waggingly good time!
💋 SMOOCH A POOCH Kissing Booth:
Pucker up for a good cause! For just $1.00 per smooch, get some doggie kisses and help raise money for Journey Home Animal Rescue!
🐾 Don't forget to guess the number of dog treats in the jar at the kissing booth—the winner takes home the jar of treats and an awesome prize! (Winner announced on Facebook. Must be able to pick up prize by the end of the 2025 season.)
👑 Costume Contest & Pooch Parade:
• 1:00 P.M. – 1:30 P.M.: Sign up your dog at Nelson’s Pumpkin Shack and grab their entry tag.
• 1:45 P.M.: Strut your stuff in the Pooch Parade, then show off on the Ruff-Way Red Carpet in categories like:

🦴 Best Child & Pet Combo
🦴 Best Dog & Owner Costume Combo
🦴 Most Original
👉 Each 1st Place Winner gets $50 CASH!
🥧 Pooch Pumpkin Pie Eating Contest:
At around 2:00 P.M., watch pups chow down on homemade pumpkin pie—no forks, just paws!
• Sign up between 1:00 – 1:30 P.M. at Nelson’s Pumpkin Shack
• Weight Classes:
🐾 Small Dogs (under 25 lbs)
🐾 Medium Dogs (25–50 lbs)
🐾 Large Dogs (over 50 lbs)
👉 1st Place in each group wins $25 CASH! (Limit 10 dogs per category.)
🍺 Yappy Hour:
From 3:00 P.M. – 4:00 P.M. at The Grain Bin Bar—humans can enjoy $1.00 off all beer, wine, and seltzers while you unwind with your furry friends!

Get ready for the cutest event of the season—our Wiener Dog Races to benefit Journey Home Animal Rescue!
🎟 Event Admission:
A $15.00 + tax wristband is required for all guests. Children under 3 are free.
🐶 Dog Race Categories (Limit 10 dogs per group. One race per pup.):
🌭 Vienna Sausage: Baby dachshunds up to 3 years old
🌭 Hotdogs: 4–7 years old
🌭 Brauts: 8+ years old (Senior Wieners)
🌭 Wiener Wannabes: Small dogs that aren’t dachshunds
💸 Registration:
• Pre-register by September 18: $10 per dog
• Day-of registration: $20

• Off-leash 20-yard dash
• Two humans per dog—one at the start, one at the finish
• Treats/toys welcome for motivation
• Dogs must be vaccinated and friendly
• Safe shoes required—no flip-flops
• Clean up after your dogs

🥇 1st Place – $75
🥈 2nd Place – $50

🐾 Important Rules for All Dog Events:
• Dogs only—no other pets allowed
• Dogs must wear ID tags and be on a max 6-ft leash
• No retractable leashes beyond 6 ft
• Dogs must be well-socialized, vaccinated, and under control
• Aggressive or disruptive dogs may be asked to leave
• Please clean up after your pets—keep the patch tidy!
