Saturday, December 6, 2025 is Global Fat Bike Day!

Many people are gathering at Larose Forest at 10am for fun group rides and to celebrate a day of cycling on Fat Bikes! 

Larose and OMBA are aware and have already been looped into this event. 

If you are not an OMBA member, you will require a day pass. OMBA admins have made it easy to get a day pass at this link: [Larose Forest Day Pass – Ottawa Mountain Association](https://ottawamba.org/day-pass/)  ?

Note: this is not an official event. Just a bunch of individuals agreeing to ride together to celebrate fat bikes… at their own risk and responsibility.

Event Details:

	•	Date: Saturday, December 6th, 2025
	•	Time: 10:00 AM
	•	Location: Larose Forest P1
	•	Thank you to local Sponsors: Whippersnapper Brewing. Spark Nutrition and DU/ER has provided some prizes to raffle off!

What to Expect:

	•	Group Rides: Riders of all levels are welcome! We’ll have ride leaders familiar with the trails to guide those less experienced.
	•	Relax and Enjoy: This is an informal event—just friends gathering to ride and have fun.
	•	Music and Refreshments: Don’t expect a live band but we’ll at least have a speaker pumping out some tunes! And of course onsite refreshments! ?
	•	VeloXpress has confirmed they will be open in time for the festivities and will have plenty of fat bikes and e-bikes available for rental. Will also have a mechanic on site if anyone needs repairs. The shop is well stocked with parts and accessories.
	• The community room will also be open.
	•	Assumed Risk: Please note, no waivers will be provided. All riders participate at their own risk and assume full responsibility for their safety.

What to Bring:

	•	Your fat bike (tires 3.8” or wider recommended).
	•	Helmet and other safety gear 
	•	Appropriate gear for the weather and trails.
	•	Your sense of adventure!
