Celebrate and learn about Scottish culture and tradition with food, ceremony, and dancing!
Join your local Scottish cultural organization for our annual Robert Burns Supper.
Robert Burns is considered the national poet of Scotland and a supper is held in his honor on or near his birthday every year. Like most suppers, ours will feature Scottish food like haggis, ceremonial readings and toasts, bag-piping, and Scottish country dancing. We will also have a raffle and dessert contest.
This is a very family friendly event.

Overnight accommodations are available at the site. You can sign up when you make your reservation.

Reservations are required, so here is what you need to know:

When: Saturday, January 23rd, 2027
Where: CAMP IO-DIS-E-CA, 3271 Sandy Beach Rd. Solon, IA
Social hour beginning at 4pm (music session during this hour, all are welcome to bring an instrument to jam!)
Ceremony starts at 5pm
Here is the menu for our Burns Supper, provided by Congrats Catering: Cottage pie, neeps/tatties, salad, soda bread, cullin skink, and, of course, there will be haggis!

We have a Dessert Contest with categories of Most Authentic Scottish, Best Presentation, and Most Delicious. Please consider bringing a dessert to share, whether you choose to compete or not.

We have a raffle of (mostly) Scottish items, donated by our members and guests. In past years, items have included CDs, clothing, note cards, jewelry, tea, and more. Raffle proceeds fund our club grants and scholarships. Please consider both donating and purchasing tickets ($1 each or 6 for $5)

We cannot sell alcohol at the event, but guests may BYOB (Bring Your Own Bottle). Please drink responsibly and be mindful of other guests.

After the supper, we will have singing, Scottish country dancing, poetry, and other shared Scottish arts and games. Participation is not required but is encouraged.
