Learn about the foundational skill of extracting the therapeutic properties of plants into oils. Infused oils can be applied topically on their own; worked with as a base for healing salves; or formulated into custom blends. We will learn about different herbs that are ideal for lending their attributes into oil, as well as how to craft an herbal salve. Participants will go home with samples and the knowledge to create their own oil-based products to amplify their home apothecary!

Herbalism classes taught through the Ely Folk School are led by instructors who have sought out training or education about herbal medicine and are not intended to replace care from medical professionals. These classes are strictly educational, and do not provide treatment, diagnosis, or medical guidance. Attendees acknowledge their responsibility for personal choices.
