If your ideal winter getaway includes wilderness immersion, outdoor adventure, and embracing the magic of northern winters, our Friluftsliv Yoga Retreat may be calling your name.

Located on Burntside Lake just outside Ely and on the edge of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, this retreat is inspired by the Norwegian philosophy of friluftsliv, which translates to “open air living.” The entire weekend is designed around reconnecting with nature and experiencing the joy of winter.

Expect cozy fireside yoga sessions beside giant picture windows, snowy hikes, twinkle lights, fireside gatherings, and invigorating winter activities. 

Retreaters can choose between two retreat tracks during registration:

Adventure Track for those craving more active exploration and outdoor energy

Restore Track for those wanting a slower-paced, deeply restorative experience

Included in this retreat:

3 nights, 4 days lodging

Daily yoga and meditation

Cross country skiing and snowshoeing

Sledding

Wild ice skating

Lakeside sauna and ice hole cold plunge

Wilderness immersion

Campfires and journaling

Specialty workshops
