Come join an American Contra Dance camp for one or two evenings for an exciting experience of high energy dancing to a top US band (Wild Asparagus, with Ann Percival on keyboard and guitar, Becky Tracy on fiddle, David Cantieni on woodwinds, Mark Murphy on bass, Mark Hellenberg on percussion, and George Marshall on concertina and bodhrán) with callers George Marshall and Lisa Greenleaf. There will be snacks.
The dances are being held in the Hayward Theatre, access to which is from a gate on the West side of the Gallery a few hundred yards from the Porta Gate in Ely, Cambridgeshire England.

NOTE THAT BOTH ARE CLOSED EVENTS (NO DROP-INS) AND ADVANCED REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED BY E-MAILING geebee219@gmail.com starting on June 1, 2026. Space is limited so sign up soon. No heels with a diameter smaller than 2.5 cm please, and ideally please wear shoes that are not worn outside. We will have a brush for you if the latter is not possible!!

The price is £20 or £15 concessions on Saturday, April 10, 2027 and £15 for all on Tuesday, April 13, 2027. Cash only. Remember that there are no drop-ins, as this is a special event. Registration closes Friday, April 4th.

Also note that if you register for the Saturday night contra dance, you are also invited to join us at 4:00 to 5:30 for an "Squares and Odds" Dance session, with Lisa Greenleaf calling to Wild Asparagus, also in the Hayward Theatre.  If you register for the Tuesday night contra dance you are also invited to join us at 4:45 to 5:30 for a Wild Asparagus Concert.

Directions: CB7 4DB in the car navigator will get you to Barton Square. There is a car park near there called Barton Road Car Park. From there cut through by Militia Way to Silver Street, turn right and then left up the Gallery (street name) when you see the large Porta Gate. The entrance to the dance hall is a few hundred yards on the left up the Gallery.
