Course is certified for DE, MD, NJAbout this EventUpon successful completion of this course, the student will be eligible for the Florida Out of State Carry Permit. This firearms course provides the student with basic skills and the mindset required to confidently operate a handgun in a violent situation. Defensive Carry I is geared toward the student with some experience operating a handgun; both open and concealed carry from outside the waistband. The class starts with a lively classroom session followed by active drills on the range. We will shoot using proper shot placement on the threat, introduce fighting magazine reloads and tactical reloads. We will shoot multiple targets practicing muzzle discipline and trigger reset. We will also introduce movement while shooting. Topics: Use of Force, Grip, Stance, Draw, Reset and Shot Placement. 300 rounds required (Ammo is available at a discount to students. We will subtract any upfront costs we incur such as class materials from the deposit. Cancellations shorter than 72 hours and no-shows forfeit their deposit. Thank you.Home-built Gun PolicyWe do not allow the use of 80% home-built firearms in our classes such as “Polymer 80” pistols and “80” lower” rifles or pistols. A general rule of thumb: if it does not have a serial number, do not bring it.These guns have proven to be unreliable in class.If you bring one to class and do not have a backup, or there is not a rental gun available, you will need to leave the class. No refund is given.
