Westerfolds 7:30 (be aware finish line will be occupied by westerfolds juniors from 8 am onwards) Warrandyte 8:45 Diamond Creek 10:05 Mernda 11:25 Aurora 12:45 Lunch post Aurora (leave Aurora by 2:25) Lalor 2:40 Coburg 4pm Each event has been allocated an hour to run. This free event has been held elsewhere around Australia for a number of years, Longest Run Melbourne North will allow runners to run up to 7 parkrun courses on one of the shortest daylight days of the year (Winter Solstice). There is absolutely no requirement to run all 7 parkruns… you can do any number. We strongly recommend carpooling where possible. **All runs will be parkrun freedom runs. No official results will be sent and completed runs will not go towards your parkrun run counts** Each event will run as follows: - there will be very minimal set up in terms of markings - Before running each parkrun, a volunteer will explain the course to anyone who isn’t familiar with it. - All runners will SELF TIME. Your times will not be recorded by volunteers. 45 minutes have been allowed for each event location to ensure we have enough time to get through all 7 courses. It is very likely the first and last event of the day will be in the dark, so a good head torch is recommended. - It would be great if runners could wait/cheer on the last runners before travelling to the next location We’ve considered all parkrun courses in the region and have chosen 7 that can be comfortably covered across the day with minimal travel. parkruns not on the list may be included next year. Travel times include a small buffer to allow everyone to make it to each run on time. We will try and stick to the schedule as best as we can. * Recommended equipment for the day * 1. GPS/stopwatch to record your own times 2. 1-2 pairs of running shoes 3. 1-7 pairs of socks and underwear 4. 1-3 sets of running clothes 5. Water bottle (some of the courses have water fountains where you can top your water up) 6. Gels, fruit, energy bars or other snacks 7. Hat 8. Sunscreen 9. Towel 10. Head Light or Torch (MUST HAVE for location 1 and 7). 11. Wet weather gear (in case of rain). Please note that the Longest run is not covered by insurance or isn't part of parkrun Australia.
