DANCE OF THE ANCESTORS – A SAMHAIN GATHERING

On Saturday 2 May as we descend into deep Autumn and the veil thins between this reality and the spirit world, we are called upon to honour and celebrate the rich diversity of our ancestral lines at Dance of the Ancestors.

Marking the midway point between the Autumn Equinox and Winter Solstice, this gathering will include a Wurundjeri offering, community feast, Samhain (Celtic Halloween) history and myth, somatic guidance, dance journey and sound bath with live musicians at the Warrandyte Community Hall.

Please note: while this gathering is based in Celtic Halloween (Samhain) tradition, it is more centred around honouring your ancestors, so dress to impress (not a Halloween costume vibe).

This sacred gathering is held on the stolen land of the sovereign Wurundjeri people. Dance Wave recognise that we have benefited from colonialism to the detriment of First Nations people, and acknowledge the Wurundjeri people as the wisdom-keepers of the waters, trees, lands and animals, and it is our intention with this acknowledgement to help heal the connection between all beings of the larger Kulin nation, activating the blackfella/whitefella dreaming that has been prophesied to bring us into balance and harmony, for the betterment of all.
