ALWG G1000 Training

Heart of Dixie Team,

Alabama Wing (ALWG) is hosting a G1000 academics class at the ALWG hangar in Wetumpka on 21 and 22 March 2026. This course is intended for the pilot transitioning to the G1000 from a round dial aircraft. The seminar will teach both VFR and IFR aspects of the G1000. Aircrew members that are not pilots are also welcome to also attend.

The course syllabus covers the equipment within the G1000 system, functions, autopilots, flight plans, engine monitoring, aircraft performance, and more. If you read the Max Trescott's G1000 Perspective and Handbook, you will be starting off right. Additionally, you can take the G1000 VFR and IFR courses in Absorb. Instructors also will need to take the G1000 IP course.

Maj Ron McKinstry and Capt Sanghyun Han are the primary instructors for this course.
