As part of the exhibition, you also will learn the relationship of some of the art to "The Black Oral History Project" (1989-1991) of the Chemung County Historical Society.

In addition, "An Elmira Legacy: A Look Back at Black Leaders During the Civil Rights Era and a View Today of Contemporary Black Artists" will lead to an Open Call for a related exhibition in 2027.
