**Please remove candles and decorations (and tools, you'd be surprised!). Painted pumpkins cannot be safely composted.**

What’s a pumpkin smash? The Pumpkin Smash is an annual effort by communities to divert pumpkins from landfills by providing an alternative option – smashing jack o' lanterns to be composted.

Last year, we held the FIRST Pumpkin Smash in Elmira. We’ll weigh the pumpkin guts and calculate how much emissions our community diverted by composting their pumpkins instead. Can we beat last year's over 800 lbs of pumpkin and gourd guts?!

About Elmira Community Cycle: Elmira Community Cycle is a volunteer-run, educational bike workspace. We use bicycles to build solidarity and improve the quality of life for our city and greater community.

About Equity Barbell: Our mission is to provide a safe space to learn and grow through weightlifting fitness for anyone who identifies as LGBTQIA+, or anyone experiencing marginalization due to their sexual or gender identity, as they seek to become a healthier person in body and mind.
