Synopsis:
Two cops. Three crooks. Eight doors. Go. In a cheap motel room, an embezzling mayor is supposed to meet with his female accountant, while in the room next door, two undercover cops wait to catch the meeting on videotape.
Of course, there’s some confusion as to who’s in which room, who’s being videotaped, who’s taken the money, who’s hired a hit man, and why the accountant keeps taking off her clothes.
Characters (ages are flexible):
Eric Sheridan: (30s–50s) A bookish, earnest police officer in his first big case. Nervous but well-meaning, he tries to maintain control in an increasingly chaotic situation.
Billie Dwyer: (20s–30s) A sweet but not-so-bright rookie cop and Eric’s partner. She’s enthusiastic and loyal, but tends to panic under pressure—especially when she’s armed.
Karen Brown: (30s–50s) An accountant with a professional demeanor… at first. As things unravel, so does her composure. She’s clever, determined, and surprisingly daring.
Mayor Meekly: (40s–70s) The kindly, clueless mayor with a gentle manner. He’s well-liked, but may be more complicated than he appears.
Mrs. Meekly: (40s–70s) The mayor’s sweet-natured, soft-spoken wife with unexpected depth. Her entrance adds a twist to the story’s escalating chaos.
Agent Frank: (40s–60s) A slick, serious government agent with intimidating energy. He’s all business and takes his job—and his wardrobe—very seriously.
Todd: (30s–50s) A Scottish hitman with a thick accent and short fuse. He’s intense, unpredictable, and prone to violence, but his bark may be worse than his bite.
Everyone is welcome to audition!
