Discover the art of porcupine quillwork in this hands-on workshop at the Kittitas County Historical Museum! One of the oldest decorative practices in Native cultures, quillwork was once used to adorn clothing, baskets, bags, and regalia. Under Lydia’s guidance, participants will learn how quills are softened, prepared, shaped, and wrapped — creating their own 𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐞- 𝐨𝐫 𝐝𝐨𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐞-𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐫 𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐭 to take home.
This workshop welcomes all experience levels — whether you’re completely new to quillwork or continuing your creative journey. A lunch break will take place at noon; participants may bring lunch, order delivery, or explore nearby restaurants. 🍽️
