- **Event Description**: Mark Holter's "Phantasmagoria" is a traveling exhibition of “recovered” artifacts and documents presented as remnants of a fictional archive. Part curiosity cabinet and part field collection, this exhibit adopts the language of museums and midway attractions alike, blurring the line between history and hoax. 

The theme and intent of the exhibit draws heavily from old carnival sideshows, roadside attractions, and forbidden archaeology. These types of curiosities drew people in with the promise of hidden knowledge for the price of a ticket...and a warning not to touch. The goal was to leave visitors unsure of what they have witnessed, but certain they had seen something they weren’t supposed to see.

The Ellendale Opera House and its services are available to all persons without discrimination as to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, marital status, or physical or mental disability.

O.P.E.R.A., Inc., the non-profit charitable organization that operates the historic Ellendale Opera House, is an equal opportunity provider.
