Hailed as one of today’s most innovative guitarists and composers, Yasmin Williams brings a uniquely tactile approach to instrumental folk. Her meditative process—ruminating on a single note until it blossoms into something larger—shapes the soundscapes of her latest Nonesuch release, Acadia. Expanding on the acclaimed Urban Driftwood (2021), Williams blends fingerstyle guitar with kora, harp guitar, banjo, and electric textures, creating immersive, deeply human music. Collaborations with artists like Aoife O’Donovan, Darian Donovan Thomas, and Darlingside highlight her growing influence in the folk world.
