In this class, we’re rolling up our sleeves and making tiny dream homes for House Wrens—because honestly, these little chaos gremlins of the bird world will nest just about anywhere they can squeeze into, and we think they deserve something a bit more charming than a random porch gap or forgotten hanging basket.



Using slabs of clay, you’ll hand-build a whimsical wren house from scratch. Think cozy cottages, quirky little cabins, or slightly off-kilter fairy dwellings—whatever your imagination decides to hatch. Once the form is built, we’ll layer on texture, carvings, and all the tiny personality details that make it feel like it’s already got stories to tell.



After that, you’ll bring it fully to life with color: choose a bright, playful studio glaze for the roof, and an underglaze or stain for the body of the house. The finish not only makes each piece pop, it also creates a natural, slightly textured surface that helps our feathered tenants get a better grip when they move in.



By the end, you’ll have created a one-of-a-kind miniature home—part sculpture, part shelter, part woodland daydream—ready to welcome its very own wren family.



Because clay must dry completely before firing, the finishing process takes several weeks. Once your piece is fully dry, it will go through a bisque firing. After the bisque firing is complete, I will clean each piece, wax the underside, apply glaze, and fire it one final time. Projects will be ready for pick-up in approximately 4–6 weeks. Shipping is also available for an additional fee.



Please wear comfortable clothing, closed-toe shoes, and tie back long hair. Rings, bracelets, and other loose jewelry are best left at home.
