Sometimes you don’t want a “ring” on it—especially not on your coffee or dining table!

This is a fun and easy class this is where art and functional meet! We’re putting an end to sweaty-glass puddles in the most beautiful way possible by creating a set of handmade, absorbent stoneware coasters that are as functional as they are artistic.



We’ll be working with a variety of textured slab techniques using my collection of playful texture rollers and clay stamps to design each coaster. Think: subtle patterns, bold impressions, organic marks—each piece becomes its own little functional artwork.



Because these coasters need to *do their job*, we won’t be glazing them in the traditional sense (glaze would seal the surface and stop absorption). Instead, we’ll explore rich surface design using stains and underglazes, allowing the clay’s natural texture to remain both beautiful and highly functional.

You’ll create **two complete sets of 4 coasters**—one to keep for yourself and one to gift (or keep both if you’re suddenly feeling like a very well-coastered household).

The end result is a set of one-of-a-kind coasters that actually work—catching condensation before it ever reaches your table and looking amazing at the same time!

Because clay must dry completely before firing, the finishing process takes several weeks. Once your piece is fully dry, it will go through a bisque firing. After the bisque firing is complete, I will fire them one final time. Projects will be ready for pick-up in approximately 4–6 weeks. Shipping is also available for an additional fee.

Please wear comfortable clothing, closed-toe shoes, and tie back long hair. Rings, bracelets, and other loose jewelry are best left at home.
