March 14, 2026 marks the 4-year anniversary of Rio’s passing.

In honor of Rio’s beautiful creativity and joyful spirit, her parents, Aaron and Niki Ball, are inviting the entire community, especially our youth, to come celebrate Rio’s life at this free, family-centered event.

“Remembering Rio: Cookies & Canvas for the Heart” is a special afternoon created to give back to the children and families in our community, a day filled with creativity, connection, and joy.

Families will enjoy FREE:
? Desserts & refreshments
? Cookie decorating
? Community canvas painting
? Keepsake rock painting
? Face painting & henna tattoos
? Board games & music
? A reflection & poetry corner
? Community resource vendors
? The Elkhart Public Library Mobile Bus (one free book for every child!)

This day is about honoring Rio’s light by pouring love back into the community, creating space for children to laugh, create, and simply be together.

This event is open to the entire community. Organizers especially encourage youth, including students who attended school with Rio and those impacted by her story, to join in a day centered on creativity, connection, and compassion.

Cultivate will also be accepting food donations for anyone who feels called to contribute.

Please join us as we remember Rio in the most beautiful way possible, through art, love, and community. ?
