- **Event Description**: Learn how to build your own fall decor from just a slab of clay! In this two session course, an instructor from the Elkhart Art League will teach you how to hand build one small pumpkin and one large luminary pumpkin. 

Session 1: Learn foundational slab-building techniques to construct two unique pieces: one small decorative pumpkin and one large pumpkin luminary (perfect for tea lights). You’ll cut, shape, and join clay slabs, adding textures and "carving" your luminary to create a glowing effect.

Session 2: Bring your fired pieces to life with color. After your pumpkins have been bisque-fired, you’ll return to apply professional ceramic glazes. You can go for classic autumnal oranges or get creative with modern styles. Your finished masterpieces will be fired one last time and ready for pickup within a week of the final class—just in time for peak fall decorating! No experience is required, as instructors will guide you through every step of the hand-building and glazing process.

This course takes place on two separate Saturdays, September 12th and September 26th, both beginning at 10 a.m. When you sign up, you're in for both sessions! All supplies are included in the workshop price, please feel free to bring an apron from home if you'd like. 

The classes will take place under our covered Outdoor Classroom. Please plan to dress for the weather. If inclement weather arises, classes may be moved to an indoor space. This class is intended for ages 16+. All minors must be accompanied by a registered adult.
