- **Event Description**: Join us for Free Family Sunday on June 7th! Ruthmere Museum will be open for tours at NO charge from 1 pm to 4 pm (last tour beginning about 15-20 minutes before 4 pm). The Ruthmere Mansion was built in 1910 for Albert & Elizabeth Beardsley, members of Elkhart's founding family. Enjoy a fully-furnished walk through history, complete with a world-class art collection and awe-inspiring architecture.

This Free Family Sunday will feature a "Music and Motion" activity for kids outside of the museum! This activity will be train-themed (in honor of 175 years of the railroad in Elkhart this year) and will take kids through a fun, movement-based activity as they listen to a musical ride on the rails. Afterwards, they can color a special Mousley coloring page.

The first Sunday of each month April - November, either Ruthmere Museum or Havilah Beardsley House is open to the public for no admission charged between 1-4pm. Ruthmere is open in April, June, August and October. The Havilah Beardsley House is open May, July, September and November.  

When one site is open for a Free Family Sunday, the other site is closed. The Havilah Beardsley House will be CLOSED on Sunday, June 7th, 2026.
