Wednesday Family Storytime with Author Leslie Lew

Join ASATT Community Initiative for a fun and interactive all-ages storytime and interactive puppet show with author Leslie Lew! She'll be reading her picture book, I Have the Heart of a Warrior, which "asserts that in order for one to have the heart of a warrior, one must first learn what such a warrior is: someone who faces their fears with a big heart, believes in themselves, feels happy, sad, excited, or scared, and knows that 'feeling these things makes them stronger.' Arslan’s vivid watercolor-style illustrations are beautiful and lively, and they add greatly to the reading experience. ... Children are shown with various skin tones and body types with some using mobility aids.” (Kirkus Starred Review)

About the author: Leslie Lew, The Warrior, is a fearless keynote speaker and trauma-informed self-defense expert who teaches women to say NO without guilt or shame and reclaim their power. She inspires bold leadership rooted in courage, boundaries, and freedom. As The Warrior, Leslie doesn’t just teach safety—she teaches liberation.
