SKERRYVORE bring their ‘Saltire Series’ show to Elgin Town Hall, a first visit to this venue for the band. Celebrating 15 years of performing and recording in 2020, the 8 band members of SKERRYVORE spend most of their time on the road, in Scotland, throughout the UK, and worldwide in Europe, USA, Canada and Australia.
SKERRYVORE represent the best in contemporary Scottish traditional music. Their distinctive sound is a perfect combination of uplifting lyrics, bagpipes, accordions and fiddles meeting kicking rhythms of guitar, bass and drums, with added keyboards and whistles.
The ‘Saltire Series’ gigs are an opportunity hear SKERRYVORE favourites from across their 15 years, some as originally played, with new arrangements of others. You’ll also have an introduction to one or two newer, not yet released pieces of material.
Joining SKERRYVORE for the 2021 Saltire Series gigs will be singer/songwriter Norrie ‘Tago’ MacIver. Currently singer and front man of SKERRYVORE friends, Skipinnish, Norrie is currently working on new material for his second album. Also on stage will be Moray based Calum Jones, a guitar powerhouse and talented lyricist, inspired by blues, rock, folk and his Celtic heritage.
Further support artists have yet to be announced. Check out SKERRYVORE on social media for updates.
