# Event Details

- **Event Name**: Feminist Craft Circle - May
- **Event Start and End Date**: Tue, 19 May, 2026 at 06:00 pm (-05:00)
- **Event Description**: Tuesday, May 19 from 6pm - 8pm

Sitting together to work on manual crafts has a long history, and for periods was looked down upon as a space for unimportant women’s work. In the past decades, feminist artists have skillfully reappropriated these practices as possible places of empowerment, resistance and protest. This event is open to anyone.

You’re welcome to bring your own project to work on, to start a new one or even to just be present. Come prepared to share skills, help troubleshoot projects and receive assistance when needed.

Beginner embroidery and crochet kits will be available for purchase. If you would like to work with another technique, reach out to us and we may be able to provide materials or at least help you figure out what to look for.

RSVP and reserve beginner kits by sending an email to advocacy@sidestreetstudioarts.org.

Pay What You Can | Recommended Contribution $8
