- **Event Description**: Crash Course in Ceramics will be a project-based introduction to clay. Two sessions will be offered for the span of four weeks, one in the morning and one in the evening to accommodate a variety of schedules! During week one, our three hour session will include an intro to clay and handbuilding techniques with the goal of creating at least one functional and decorative piece: i.e. pinch pots, mugs, coasters. During week two, our three hour session will include an intro to clay and wheel throwing with the goal of creating at least one functional and decorative piece: i.e. bowls, vases, planters. Once all pieces are fired, you will return for the third and fourth week to learn how to glaze your final pieces. This class is FREE thanks to a grant provided by the Southern Arts Fund.
