This program introduces young naturalists to the vital role these amazing animals play in our ecosystems and how we can protect them right where we live.What to Expect:Native Bee Exploration: Discover the fascinating diversity of insects and other invertebrates that call our park home.Ecosystem Heroes: Learn why these small, often overlooked creatures are essential to the health of the canyon and how they support our environment.Hands-on Discovery: Participate in interactive activities designed to help young explorers have fun while learning about our native bee friends.What to Wear & Bring:Footwear: Comfortable, closed-toe walking shoes suitable for exploring trails and rocky terrain.Gear: A sun hat, sunscreen and a reusable water bottle are highly recommended.Clothing: Dress in light layers.Additional Information:Junior Ranger Program: Junior Rangers are children ages 6-12 who are interested in learning about the natural environment, making new friends and having fun. Parents are encouraged to attend Junior Ranger events.Please note: Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times for Junior Ranger events.Park Entry: The program is free with a Colorado Parks and Wildlife State Park pass; otherwise, admission is $10.Timed Entry: Timed Entry reservations are recommended for park access on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays from May 1st to Oct 1st from 5:30 am to 3:30 pm. You can book your entry here under the "Visit a Park" tab. For assistance making your reservation, view the step-by-step instructions here.Shuttle Info: No reservation? No problem. If you take the Eldo Shuttle into the park, you will not need a reservation! It’s a great way to avoid traffic and parking hassle.
