Join us for a hands-on sustainable fruit tree care workshop with ISA-certified Arborist Zach Engelking, Saturday, March 7th from 8am to 4pm. Zach Engelking holds a B.S. in Natural Resources. He has worked in tree care for nearly 20 years and currently manages the Division of Arboriculture for EC3 in Madison, WI. In his free time, Zach enjoys volunteering with international agroforestry projects and tending to his hobby orchard at home.
This workshop blends classroom learning with outdoor hands-on training and will cover:
Establishing a small-scale home orchard
Trees and site selection
Control methods for pests and disease
Multi-faceted tree care
Pruning techniques
Dress for the weather; we plan to spend a few hours outdoors. Note: Participants must be able to walk short distances on uneven ground.
Supplies: hat, water bottle, hand pruning shears (optional)
Registration fee: $75/person, includes breakfast & lunch. The registration deadline is March 1st.
