It reviews several systems outlined in Section 6 Walk-Through Survey of the ComSOP that should be evaluated during an inspection, including roofing, exterior, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, life safety, and kitchens. Students will learn how to follow an inspection procedure for inventorying building systems and components, identifying and describing common deficiencies, and evaluating overall building condition.Mock Inspection of a Commercial BuildingAs part of the class, students will visit a local building to participate in a mock inspection. Students can anticipate exploring low-slope roofs, examining roof-mounted equipment, entering electrical rooms, and gaining firsthand experience with all aspects of the building. This hands-on exercise provides students allows students to ask the instructor about actual items they will come across in the field.
