It quickly evolved into the city's pride and joy, a tradition that returns for its 40th year in 2017. Viva! El Paso tells four centuries of our history through song, dance and drama.\n\nThe show, now directed by EPCC's Keith Townsend from a script by Marty Martin, is an extravaganza featuring production numbers depicting the Spanish Conquest, the Mexican border influence and Westward expansion of the United States. \n\nThe current show features several of the elements (including the iconic Deer Dance) that have been popular with audiences for years, as well as new touches, including music by El Paso's own Jim Ward and Gabe Gonzalez.\n\nIt is produced by a partnership of the El Paso Community Foundation, El Paso Live and El Paso Community College."
