Imagine dangling 1,200 feet above the American River in a cable car. Local guide Phil Berry doesn’t have to imagine it—he lived it!

Join us for a special journey through the rugged history of the Michigan-California Lumber Company's narrow gauge railroad operation in El Dorado County. We’re combining unique local history with a live train ride for an afternoon you won’t forget.

The Experience
? 1940s Narrow Gauge Footage: Watch historic logging RR films narrated live by Phil Berry (grandson of local forestry icon Swift Berry).

? The Great Cable Tramway: Hear what it was really like to ride the "impossible" line soaring over the canyon.

? All Aboard: After the show, grab your seat on the El Dorado Western Railroad's newly launched full-size train to experience the same rail line the Michigan-California Co. used to deliver their lumber to market!
