Your welcome to bring & Offering small flowers to monks during a 'Hike for Peace' is a revered gesture of respect, kindness, and support, often symbolizing the beauty and impermanence of life. spreading messages of kindness by distributing blessed, bracelets to the public. These bracelets symbolize inner peace, mindfulness, protection, and a commitment to making the world a better place.

Key Rules and Etiquette:
Walking & Position: Walk behind the monks, never in front or
in between them.
Physical Contact: Do not hug, shake hands, or touch the monks. Women should be particularly mindful of this restriction, which is rooted in vows of celibacy.
Greetings: Offer a respectful greeting by placing hands together in a prayer position and bowing slightly.
Offerings: Suitable offerings include flowers or, if requested, pre-approved food items (fruits, vegetables) or water/juice. They do not handle money.
Road Safety: If crowds gather, stand on the sides of the road to provide a clear path. That is our safety cue for EVERYONE to move to the side of the road and walk SINGLE FILE so that the car can pass through.

This is urban hike in the EL CERRITO & RICHMOND. Absolutely perfect Mother's Day hike. Let's Celebrate Happy Mother's Day with community walks. This hike will take us into the hills at beautiful Gyuto Foundation ( Richmond) from Sera Jey Foundation( El Cerrito ). You're sure to find peace and calm at the compact Peace Garden located on the grounds of the Tibetan Buddhist monastery at Wildcat Canyon Path. Enjoy neighborhood panoramic SF Bay views. All are welcome ! Meeting point at Sera Jey Foundation Free Parking Address: 6712 Portola Dr, El Cerrito, CA 94530, the trails is out & back total 5 miles.
