Aikido is a Japanese martial art focused on harmony and non-aggression – think less fighting, more flow. Teens learn to move confidently, fall safely, and resolve conflict without force.

Aikido of San Diego’s Teens Summer Camp is designed to help young people (12-16 years old) build confidence, resilience, and practical self-awareness in a welcoming and empowering environment. Through dynamic Aikido training, movement challenges, partner practice, and team-building activities, teens practice how to stay calm under pressure, move with intention, and respond thoughtfully in moments of conflict.

Whether your teen is new to Aikido or already part of our community, this camp offers a chance to grow physically, mentally, and socially- while making friends and having a meaningful, active summer experience.

Some of the activities of the program will include:

Aikido
Games
Mindfulness
Yoga
Make your own jo (wooden staff)
Japanese Calligraphy
