DAV Chapter #2 Holiday BBQ Bash

Get ready to kick off the holiday season with a festive celebration filled with live music, delicious BBQ!

Bring the whole family—Santa will be surprising the kids after dinner for a visit, photo, and gifts!

This in-person Holiday BBQ is the perfect opportunity to connect with fellow veterans of all ages and from all war times. We'll have a photo booth to capture all the holiday joy and create lasting memories.

Grand Ole BBQ is the spot for seriously good Central Texas barbecue. Located in Flinn Springs, this unique music venue features a large stage and an inviting indoor/outdoor setting. The yard has over 25 propane heaters and multiple fire pits that will be fully lit, dress warm and festive!

Group Room Rates are Available at Viejas for $119.00 per night. Details will be added here as soon as they are available.

We are honored to have the University of San Diego, Knauss School of Business, as a key community partner for this event. Their student volunteers have played a vital role in every aspect of event planning, such as marketing and securing venues and vendors. Our volunteers made this event possible. We are deeply grateful for their tireless efforts and unwavering commitment to serving our veteran community.

Info: Please have your ticket ready on your phone or as a printout so we can scan you in quickly. Grab a soft drink and some salad, and enjoy the live music from our Veteran Band.

Info: Our traditional opening ceremony will begin. A student cadet team will lead the Honor Guard, the Pledge of Allegiance, and a moment of reflection.

Info: Our Master of Ceremonies will kick off dinner service with a special focus on our youngest guests, making sure the children get their food first so they're ready to see Santa.


The dinner will be a hosted buffet served with delicious tri-tip, smoked turkey, and BBQ chicken, with sides of macaroni and cheese, green beans, and coleslaw.

Info: Santa will arrive after dinner! Children will be able to sit one by one on Santa's Lap, take a photo, and receive a gift.

Info: We will start to call out the winners for various door prizes and giveaways.

Info: Don't miss the patriot pot! This is an in-person event, and will be called promptly at 8:30 PM.

Info: We'll conclude our evening with our traditional holiday turkey turndown - a chance to take a turkey home before heading home!
