The ritual of pouring the metal and assigning meaning to the resulting shapes is believed to exorcise the evil eye out of the body. It's a form of care giving and healing. Built from discarded objects and improvised components, the machine performs the ritual automatically and the molten metal object is 3D scanned and archived for the public to interpret.During the event, we will emphasize the roles of the different components in the ritual: material, movement, symbols, meanings and belief while specifically looking at the relationship between the machine and human interpretation. Participants will be encouraged to go through the ritual themselves, and to keep a physical or a digital form of their individual ritual’s outcome.TututuStudio is a collaborative practice between artists and designers Adi Friedman and Ceren Sözer. working where storytelling meets interaction design. We explore everyday rituals and how they shape the way people behave, connect, and experience their environments.
