Nana Osei is een jonge multi-instrumentalist, zanger, percussionist en danser uit Ghana, die momenteel in Gent verblijft. Hij groeide op in een muzikale familie en is een meester op de Seperewa, een traditionele Ghanese harp-luit. Nana Osei studeerde Ghanese muziek aan de Universiteit van Winneba en verdiepte zich nadien ook in de muziek en dans van de Akan. In zijn traditionele West-Afrikaanse muziek hoor je invloeden van Kundum, Akom, Palmwine en Nwomkro.

Tijdens dit concert stelt Nana zijn debuutalbum ‘Journey to the Unknown’ voor. Op dit diep persoonlijk album brengt hij een van de meest aangrijpende verhalen uit zijn carrière muzikaal tot leven. Van verlies en ontworteling tot liefde, geloof en overleving: elk nummer vertelt een hoofdstuk, recht uit het hart. Op de plaat hoor je gastbijdrages van Nicolas Mortelmans (sitar), Roland Van Campenhout (gitaar en stem), Lara Rosseel (contrabas) en Kaito Winse (fluit). Zij zullen er live ook bij zijn, net als zijn vaste band Core Pareja (percussie), Raffaello Visconti (gitaar) en Paa Kwesi (bas).

Eerste single 'Belgium And Rain (feat. Roland Van Campenhout)' is nu uit!

Kaito Winse zal de avond solo openen. De getalenteerde muzikant uit Burkina Faso woont momenteel in Brussel en maakt muziek in de Griot-traditie. Hij bespeelt een resem aan traditionele instrumenten: kalebas, mondboog, Peulfluit, toutléfluit en de tama. Maar het zijn vooral zijn beklijvende stem en betoverende songs met diepgaande, reflecterende teksten die je bij zullen blijven. Als vervolg op zijn veelgeprezen debuut ‘Kaladounia’ uit 2020, bracht hij in 2025 de EP ‘Reele Bumbou’ uit via Rebel Up, in samenwerking met Zephyrus Records.
