These works seek "a new language" through transmuting the letter forms of vintage metal advertising.“A New Language” launched on 10/24/25 with an evening of poetry, song, sacred story and visual art in the Fuller Dome with Rabbis Susan Talve and James Goodman. Accompanying the words and music was a visual art exhibition in the Fuller Dome Gallery by Benjamin Lowder featuring geometric assemblages built from reclaimed wood and vintage metal signage.Lowder’s current series of work is titled, “Myth, Math & Magic.” This series is comprised of two- and three-dimensional totems constructed of reclaimed lumber and vintage metal signage. The advertising tropes of the vintage signs are deconstructed and reassembled into sacred geometric patterns that break the magic spell cast by the advertising’s original letterforms. These artifacts are recast to transmute feelings of nostalgia for an unsustainable past while drawing forward ancient wisdom to support an abundant future. The Fuller Dome is located on the campus of Southern Illinois University. Once on campus follow Circle Drive around campus to Visitor Parking Lot B, which is located right beside the Fuller Dome, Center for Spirituality and Sustainability. https://cdn-az.allevents.in/events9/banners/cc8b7870-b88c-11f0-9b73-5188c4a9b9bd-rimg-w987-h740-dcdbd1c1-gmir.jpg https://cdn-az.allevents.in/events4/banners/cdb663e0-b88c-11f0-9b73-5188c4a9b9bd-rimg-w987-h740-dcdcd3c2-gmir.jpg - **Event URL**: https://allevents.in/edwardsville/a-new-language-art-exhibition-talk/100001917372194849 - **Event Categories**: art, exhibitions, fine-arts, literary-art - **Interested Audience**: - total_interested_count: 0 ## Ticket Details - **Ticket Price Range**: min: 0, max: 0, currency: USD ## Event venue details - **city**: Edwardsville - **state**: IL - **country**: United States - **location**: Buckminster Fuller dome - **lat**: 38.7909897 - **long**: -90.0000881 - **full address**: Buckminster Fuller dome, 81 Circle Drive, Edwardsville, United States ## Event gallery - **Alt text**: "A New Language" Art Exhibition Talk - **Image URL**: https://cdn-az.allevents.in/events7/banners/1275b1960fc590ab1db83331aa763f83df534334c0d87a6df2bd3620d03fd29d-rimg-w1200-h900-dc62584a-gmir.jpg?v=1762157580 ## FAQs - **Q**: When and where is "A New Language" Art Exhibition Talk being held? - **A:** "A New Language" Art Exhibition Talk takes place on Fri, 21 Nov, 2025 at 07:00 pm to Fri, 21 Nov, 2025 at 09:00 pm at Buckminster Fuller dome, 81 Circle Drive, Edwardsville, United States. - **Q**: Who is organizing "A New Language" Art Exhibition Talk? - **A:** "A New Language" Art Exhibition Talk is organized by the Center for Spirituality and Sustainability. - **Q**: Who is this event for?
