Finn Siegers’ voice has been heard in Edmonton's music underground and Jazz scenes for some time. His sound draws from various styles that culminate in folk-informed melodies with
the expression and sensitivity of Jazz. He is a passionate improviser whose compositions and guitar work prioritize emotional expression.

Born in Germany and raised in Canada, he has been steeped in classical, folk and rock music from a young age. He began playing the guitar seriously at the age of 11, delving into the worlds of classic and indie rock. Jazz piqued his interest at age 15, leading him to play in various youth big bands in the Edmonton area, where he honed his skills as a dynamic and responsive accompanist. Starting in high school, he performed pop and jazz at venues across the Okanagan in the summers with his grandfather, Harold Sher, broadening his repertoire and skillset. His perspective opened/broadened further when he started at MacEwan university, studying with top Jazz players and meeting like-minded individuals. He joined Pails/Buckets in his first year, bringing sensitive expressionism and energy to rough garage rock numbers, amounting to jarring motifs and catchy melodies. 

Siegers is a founder and co-leader of the Gon Calvis Trio, a group dedicated to avant garde musical exploration and discovery. He joined Addison Wall and added his distinct voice to Wall’s witty folk roots tunes, illuminating his voice in the context of a genre-bending folk rock band in various iterations. Over the years, Finn has been fortunate to study with Brett Hansen, Joel Gray, Lorne Lofsky, Matt Brubeck, Brad Shigeta, Mo Lefever, Tyson Kerr, Jamie Philp, Justin Khuong, Jim Head, Daniel Stadnicki, Alex Moxon
and Noam Lemish.

As a band leader, he has opened for Juno winning Maria Dunn and JUNO nominated Secondhand Dreamcar. He frequents Fawkes Cafe, exploring iterations of standards within the Jazz canon. As a sideman, he has played in Edmonton cornerstone rock and jazz venues, including Yardbird Suite, The Starlite Room, Starlite Temple, The Aviary, The Naked Cyber Cafe, Marigold Rooftop and Blakbar. He has also been fortunate to be featured at various festivals in Edmonton, including Kaleido Festival, Cantando Music Festival, Winterruption and The Ada Boulevard Music Festival. He contributed to the debut effort of Pails/Buckets, recorded
at Riverdale Recorders by local luminary Sean Davis Newton, entitled “Western Hog Exchange”. Siegers has been fortunate to share the stage with Brad Shigeta, Dave Laing, Katie Perman,
Chris Andrew, Kent Sangster and Jerrold Dubyk, and to open for Sean Davis Newton, Morning Coyote, Chic Chameleon, Teenage Arts Scene, Misfortune Tellers, Medical Pilot and Non Ultras.

Siegers’ diverse musical experiences with multiple styles culminate into a versatile voice. He has established himself as a promising up-and-coming improviser in the Edmonton area and
will continue to refine his expressive, emotive sound, evolving and expanding with the music scene and community as it changes.
