Bundle up and bring the family to Churchill Square for an evening of free, family-friendly New Year’s Eve fun!

Enjoy live music, roving performers, art installations and more throughout the evening. Lace up and hit the ice, free skate rentals and skate aids are available on a first-come, first-served basis, and the skate change room will be open from 6 pm to midnight. Warm up between activities in one of the on-site warming domes.

A variety of food trucks will be available throughout the night.

While you’re Downtown, explore the surrounding districts, including the Downtown Arts District! With activities at the Royal Alberta Museum, Stanley A. Milner Library, Art Gallery of Alberta, Citadel Theatre and Winspear Centre, or visit the Entertainment District along Rice Howard Way and the excitement at ICE District.

? NOTICE: This year’s New Year’s Eve fireworks will be launched from the Stanley A. Milner Library instead of City Hall. The parkade will be closed from 5 pm Dec. 31 to 2 am  Jan. 1 for safety.
All festivities at Churchill Square will continue as planned.

Can’t make it Downtown? Watch the fireworks live on CBC.
CBC will broadcast the Live Cross-Canada Countdown from Churchill Square, bringing together Canadians from coast to coast with familiar faces and surprise guests. Stream it free on CBC Gem or wherever you watch CBC.
