Linocut Printmaking Workshop: Saturday January 17th

This is a low pressure class; there will be plenty of time to work through a simple design.

INSTRUCTOR: Natalie Ley of Snake Bite Creations

PROJECT: Students will create a linocut print up to 4"x6"; learning how to carve a block and using ink to print it by hand. At the end of class, you will go home with your block and paper prints.

INCLUDED: All materials are included; a lino block, carving tools, ink, rollers, and paper.

PREREQUISITE: None! No experience is required.

PLEASE BRING: Carving: Please come with a design in mind. Students will have the option of either drawing their design directly on the block (freehand) or sending me a PDF beforehand so it can be printed and transferred onto the block before class. If you have a laser printer, you can also print a piece of paper with your sketch by photocopying it (in order to transfer it). Please make sure it is no larger than 4"x6".

Printing: Nothing is needed, but if there is a specific colour or type of paper you would like to use, please bring it.

OTHER NOTE: You may need to come back to pick up your prints when they are dry.

CANCELLATION POLICY: Due to very small class sizes, we are unable to offer refunds on workshops. If for any reason you are unable to attend, you can send someone in your place. Any classes cancelled by us due to low registration or health mandates will have the option for a refund or transfer to a future date.

Info: This will give students the opportunity to carve their designs into the block and stop for a lunch break.
