This family-friendly tour will be led by local heritage writer Jenna Chalifoux.You’ll learn about:- The Ross family’s arrival and running Edmonton’s first hotel- How kids in the 1880s ate, played, and worked- Coal mining, brewing, and gardening in Rossdale- The time flying ace Wop May dropped a baseball from an airplane- Iconic landmarks like the Ortona Armouries and Rossdale Brewery- How the devastating 1915 flood reshaped EdmontonYou’ll also taste Scottish oat crackers, listen to the sounds of birds and trains, touch pieces of the past, and get a chance to try real spruce gum.This tour is presented by the Edmonton City as Museum Project (ECAMP), an initiative of the Edmonton Heritage Council. It’s a pilot for a regular tour we’ll be offering this summer!
