- **Event Description**: Who are we designing for? A candid panel on moving beyond compliance to create spaces that truly work for people.About this EventWhat does it really mean for a space to be accessible and who are we designing for? This thought-provoking panel brings together a designer, developer, and user to explore the gap between meeting minimum standards and creating spaces that truly work for people. Through a candid, real-world discussion, panelists will challenge common assumptions, share lived experiences, and unpack where current practices fall short, despite being “technically compliant.”From policy and incentives to practical design decisions and day-to-day operations, this session will equip commercial real estate professionals with actionable insights to rethink how accessibility is approached across homes, offices, and public spaces. Attendees will leave with a deeper understanding of inclusive design, and the tools to be stronger advocates and allies for more accessible, human-centered environments. This event is open to members and non membersAbout our SpeakersPyper Whitecotton – NAIT Interior Design Technology StudentPyper lives with Spinal Muscular Atrophy and navigates the world using a power wheelchair.
