The Canadian Birkebeiner Society is excited to partner with Silver Skate Festival to host the Barnebirkie Family Ski on Sunday, February 15, 2026. 

These winter fun activities are where Birkie dreams begin and are for both children and their grown-ups! Did you know? “Barne” translates to “child” in Norwegian!

We encourage all of our participants to take part in the “Dress like a Viking” Costume Contest….wear your crazy hat, Viking costume, super hero cape, bright wig or any other accessory to help you feel like a warrior champion!

Classic-technique:
500 m, 2 km, or 4 km
Track set ski course with official start

Barnebirkie race bib

Finish snacks and refreshments

Hand-made birch wood medal!
