Vulva Monologues Creative Writing Workshop

Have you ever wondered what your vulva might say if it wrote a letter?

As the first event of our Vulva Monologues project, we invite you to come along to a creative writing workshop and share some thoughts and feelings both with and from your vulva in the form of letters.

We will do some warm up excercices to get the creative juices flowing before moving on to the main letter writing, with some space at the end for anyone who wishes to share.

Who can come?
This event is open to anyone with a vulva, regardless of gender expression, sex expression, and sexuality.

We have pay it forward, standard, and concession ticket prices. Please choose the price that works best for you - no questions will be asked.

The workshop will be co-facilitated by Naomi Head of the Chicken Coop Writing Group (Good Egg Projects).

We understand that many people have difficult or traumatic experiences relating to their vulva and, while we can listen and be empathetic, none of us are trained in therapy or support work. Overall, the aim of this workshop is to create a welcoming, friendly environment for open discussion, rather than provide professional support.

About Our Project
Inspired by The Vagina Monologues, our intention with this project is to open up conversations around vulvas and vaginas.

The Vagina Monologues were created from over 200 interviews with people talking about their vulvas, and was first published in 1998.

It took people from the ‘down there’ generation and asked them to talk about things they had never spoken about before.

Reading The Vagina Monologues, we felt like it was an incredibly powerful piece of the feminist movement. Now, in 2025, we want to know what has changed since 1998… and what hasn’t. In some ways, things are much more open now, but in others we still have so far to go.

We believe that sharing stories is key to breaking the stigma and shame associated with vulvas. We want to raise awareness of experiences people face, and hope that awareness will lead to some of these experiences changing. Ultimately, we want to collect and share stories in solidarity with one another, creating a space where people don’t feel so alone in their experiences.
