Trauma is everyone’s business—and we all have a role to play. This engaging, accessible training helps staff across all sectors understand trauma, respond with compassion, and create safer, more supportive environments. Trauma isn’t limited to clinical settings—it shows up in schools, housing, healthcare, justice, job centres, and daily conversations.


Rooted in UK best practice and the Transforming Psychological Trauma Framework (Scotland), this course uses real-life scenarios, reflection, and practical tools that apply across roles.


Learning Outcomes:

Participants will learn to:

• Recognise trauma’s impact on thoughts, emotions, and behaviours

• Spot trauma responses in everyday work

• Apply the five trauma-informed principles

• Avoid re-traumatising practices

• Use effective, compassionate responses

• Manage challenging behaviour calmly

• Reflect on personal boundaries and reactions

• Collaborate to improve support and reduce harm
